Abbreviations: We seem to use a lot of abbreviations in keto. It really helps to get to know them.
Here are a few common ones:
BPC: Bullet Proof Coffee
HWC: Heavy Whipping Cream
FHP: Fat Head Pizza
WOE: Way of Eating
WOL: Way of Living
NSV: Non Scale Victory
IF: Intermittent Fasting
AS = Artificial Sweetener.
BF = Body Fat.
BG = Blood Glucose reading taken from a meter that measures how much sugar is in the blood.
LCHF = Low Carb High Fat (Ketogenic diet)
KCKO = Keep Calm Keto On!
I will add more as I think of them.
BMI = Body Mass Index
BMR = Basal Metabolic Rate
WOE is used a lot but I cringe every time I see the word woe attached to something as great as Keto. So I will only use WOL for Keto Way of Living.
And it IS a lifestyle. As a diet it works great. But if you go back to the carbs you will put the weight back on and most likely loose the health benefits. There are many who have been living Keto for as much as 25 years or more. Once people embrace Keto they usually love it so much they wouldn’t consider going back.
